The rationale:
Actually, the number of research centres involving in the research in Bioengineering research has being increased tremendously. There are some special units and departments which specifically focus on Bioengineering as M.Sc. and Ph.D. courses (Imperial College London, Strathclyde University and etc.). A lot of researchers with various backgrounds involved in these research centres. Although, there are some journals focusing on Biomechanics, Rehabilitation, Orthotics and Prosthetics, there is no other journal which generally focuses on Bioengineering. Due to wide range of research have being done in this field, there should be a need to have a specific journal which cover all of the mentioned fields.
Journal publishes three issues per year.
