Ocimum Scientific Publishers Ethics of Publication

Publication Ethics

Ocimum Scientific Publishers (OSP) practices the guidelines based on the recommendations of COPE (The Committee on Publication Ethics). Authors, Editors and scientific community (All parties) associated with Ocimum Scientific Publishers are expected to follow the core practices recommended by COPE. OSP interacts with journal editors, contributors and peer reviewers to maintain high ethical standards of publication of quality research work. Ethical problems related to any manuscript published at OSP or manuscript submitted to OSP is related to the editor of the journal, then that editor should take appropriate steps to evaluate the problem as recommended by COPE. All parties should be familiar with the problems in ethics of publication - Plagiarism, Duplicate Submission, Citation Manipulation, Data Fabrication and Falsification and Conflicts of Interest.

Authors

  • Any potential conflict of interest must be notified by the author to OSP.
  • Author should submit their original work, which is free from plagiarism. Citing original source is one of the effective ways to avoid plagiarism.
  • Article submitted to the journal should not be published elsewhere or it should not be under process with other journal/publishing house.
  • Citation Manipulation: Data used from other sources has to be credited. Ensure that the data is cited appropriately.
  • Author should not falsify or fabricate the data or results (manipulation of figures or tables).

Editors

  • All articles submitted to OSP are published under strict control of editorial board members.
  • Any potential conflict of interest must be notified by the editor to OSP.
  • Editor plays a major role in processing the article submitted to the journal.
  • Article can be published/rejected based on the decision received from the Editor. No biased decisions based on any race, religion, region, sex, etc., are encouraged.
  • Assignee (Editor) should not reveal any information or use the data of the article before publication.
  • Editor should strive to constantly improve the journals

Reviewers

  • All articles submitted to OSP undergo rapid peer review process (Double Blind).
  • Any potential conflict of interest must be notified by the reviewers to OSP.
  • Reviewers should not reveal any information or use the data of the article assigned to review, before publication.
  • Reviewers should notify the editorial board of the journal any information which may be reason to reject publication of the article.
  • Reviewers should try to provide their review within the timelines to maintain a rapid review schedule.
